April Potluck Decorations and Food Ideas ~ Fellowship Committee Schedule ~ Easter looking for Spring
The April fellowship committee potluck decorations and food ideas start with the season full force into spring. While we have gone through the Lenten and Easter season, we carry the Easter theme to the April potluck. As we start preparing for the April potluck my spirits are high and with expectation and hope as outside the weather is blooming with crocuses daffodils and hyacinths. These colors of pinks, blue, purples and yellows, the beautiful green of spring, are what we bring into the decorations for the Spring April potluck. April 10, 2016
I pulled out my Cricut Expression Air two weeks before potluck and started imagining if I were a child coming to a church event what would make me smile as I walk into the fellowship hall. Most of our church members were coming off celebrating Easter and coming home from spring break vacations, so we used some of the pinwheels that we’ve used before to decorate the vases. These pinwheels have bright springy colors all with patterns and designs of Easter spring flowers.
The bright color papers are highlighted by using my new Cricut Cuttlebug Embossing Machine to emboss beautiful patterns onto the paper. I had Easter eggs in mind as I pick out each paper and design, and using my Cricut Expression Air and my new Cricut Cuttlebug Embossing Machine, I was able to make the most delightful cute whimsical eggs and bunnies to decorate the tables. I was able to pick out plain Easter eggs, Easter eggs with flower designs, Easter bunnies with embossing and little bookmarks that said, “Some Bunny Loves you”.
The cut outs were scattered all around the table to make the room look more festive. As usual, I always walk around after the kids eat and make sure that they know that any decorations they like they can take home. I want to encourage every child to learn to enjoy the fellowship and community of faith. After the Potluck was over we gathered up the decorations so that we have a start for next year as we are trying to build up a supply of decorations for each month.
We are getting a lot of new people attending as they are getting to known the potlucks are a fun time to fellowship. This month was also the month that our fellow committee member who is heading up our new softball league made sure he made contact with everybody and encourage other people to join the new community softball team sponsored by our church. The new softball league is a great and exciting addition for the committee events that encourages fellowship and activity.
