Sesame Soy Sauce Chicken Marinade

A bold and flavorful sesame chicken marinade made with soy, garlic, and sesame oil. This easy Asian marinade is perfect for juicy chicken that tastes better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients.
  2. Place raw chicken (breasts, thighs, or drumsticks) in a large freezer-safe zip-top bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal the bag and gently move the chicken around to coat evenly.
  4. Remove as much air as possible from the bag before sealing completely.
  5. Lay the bag flat, label it, and freeze for up to 3 months.
  6. To cook: Thaw the chicken in the refrigerator overnight. Discard the marinade and grill the chicken over medium heat until fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).

Notes

  1. Sprinkle extra sesame seeds after grilling.
  2. This marinade is freezer-friendly and works great for meal prep. You can also use it with pork, shrimp, or grilled vegetables.
