3 Ingredients BBQ Chicken Drumsticks Crockpot Recipe

Packed with the smoky richness of barbecue sauce and lean, protein-packed chicken, these juicy chicken drumsticks are a blend of flavor in every bite of delicious tender chicken. You are going to love this easy chicken dinner recipe.

Ingredients

  • Cooking Spray Oil for easy cleanup
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 pounds of Drumstick Chicken Legs (2 packages of 6 packages of Costco chicken legs)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of Barbecue sauce
  • Salt and Pepper Optional

Instructions

  1. The best way for easy clean-up use an olive oil spray oil in the bottom and sides of the CrockPot.
  2. Slice in rounds one large onion and place in the bottom of the Crockpot, this adds lots of flavor and acts like a base for the chicken drumstick legs.
  3. Layer the chicken on top of the onions in a single layer and if you like, salt sprinkle on black pepper.
  4. Cover the Chicken with the barbecue sauce.
  5. Cooking times: low for 4-5 hours, high for 2-3 hours. Always check the internal temperature for well-done chicken at 185° degrees F. (85°C)
  6. Store any leftover chicken legs in an airtight container.

Notes

  1. Serve with a green vegetable, rice, or mashed potatoes.
  2. When I am done with a bottle of BBQ sauce I add about 1/4 cup of water, shake, and try to get the last out of the bottle.
