Baked mushroom Swiss burgers layer juicy patties over sweet onions, then top them with mushroom soup, savory seasoning, mushrooms, and melted Swiss, all baked together in one dish for an easy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds ground beef, formed into 6 patties
  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet Lipton Recipe Secrets Beefy Onion Soup Mix
  • 8 to 16 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced, about 2 cups
  • 6 slices swiss cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion into rings and layer on the bottom of a greased 13×9 baking dish.
  2. Form the ground beef into 6 equal patties and layer on top of the onions.
  3. Spoon cream of mushroom soup evenly over the patties.
  4. Sprinkle the Lipton Beefy Onion mix over the burgers and soup.
  5. Add the sliced mushrooms on top, plus extra in the dish if desired.
  6. Top each burger with a slice of Swiss cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 more minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Notes

  1. Let the dish rest 5 minutes before serving. Toast buns lightly for the best texture.
