A warm, buttery apple crisp made with Honeycrisp apples and a crumbly oat topping. A simple fall dessert that has been a family tradition for years.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the filling:

  • 8 Honeycrisp apples, or Mac or Golden Delicious apples
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, or monk fruit
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the topping:

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 stick butter, softened and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9×9 inch baking dish with olive oil spray.
  2. Wash, peel, and slice the apples.
  3. Toss the apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Layer in the baking dish.
  4. Mix all topping ingredients with a fork, a pastry cutter, or your hands, until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
  6. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Leaving the peels on is optional. I like the extra color and texture, but you can peel all the apples if you prefer.
Store leftovers covered in the fridge up to 4 days.
Prep and bake times are estimates, adjust for your oven.
