For the filling:
- 8 Honeycrisp apples, or Mac or Golden Delicious apples
- 2 tablespoons sugar, or monk fruit
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the topping:
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 stick butter, softened and cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9×9 inch baking dish with olive oil spray.
- Wash, peel, and slice the apples.
- Toss the apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Layer in the baking dish.
- Mix all topping ingredients with a fork, a pastry cutter, or your hands, until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
- Bake 40 to 50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
Leaving the peels on is optional. I like the extra color and texture, but you can peel all the apples if you prefer.
Store leftovers covered in the fridge up to 4 days.
