- 2/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 cup (2 sticks) of room temperature butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup of chopped pecans (fine-chopped)
For Rolling the Cookies:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Mix the butter, sugar, and vanilla, mix until creamy.
- Whisk the flour with the salt.
- Add the flour and the nuts to the butter, and sugar mixture a little at a time. Mix this by hand with a spoon, not with the mixture.
- When the dough is combined, it will still be a little crumbly, form a ball of dough with your hands. The warmth of your hands will help the dough to stick together.
- Put the cookie balls on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 400° F for 10 minutes. Do not overcook or they will fall apart.
- While the cookies are just out of the oven, roll them in powdered sugar.
- When they are cool you can roll them again but this step is not necessary.
