Ghost hot dogs are an easy Halloween hot dog recipe made with fully cooked hot dogs and crescent roll dough. Kids love draping the dough and poking the spooky faces with a straw.

  • Total Time: 0 hours
  • Yield: 16 Ghost Hot Dogs 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 fully cooked hot dogs
  • 2 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or crescent dough sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut each hot dog in half crosswise.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough, press two triangles together into a square, and smooth out the seam. Cut each square in half.
  4. Stand each hot dog half on its cut end and drape a piece of dough over the top.
  5. Use a straw to poke two eyes and a round mouth near the top of each ghost.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before the kids dig in, because the hot dogs stay hot inside.

Notes

1. Make the face holes a little larger than you think, the dough puffs while baking.
2. For mini ghosts, use cocktail hot dogs.
3. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days. Reheat at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
