Light, fluffy, sweet, perfect alone or with a hot bowl of chili.


Units Scale
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Corn Meal
  • 4 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Shortening Melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar (I added this as my family likes it a little sweeter)


  1. Mix all the ingredients together. Put in an 8×8 pan and cook at 350° for 20 minutes.
