Units Scale
  • 2 eggs plus enough water to make 1 1/3 cup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp bread machine dry yeast
  • this makes a 2-pound loaf in the bread machine


  1. Place all ingredients in the order listed in the bread machine.
  2. Set on the dough setting
  3. When the bread machine is finished transfer to a greased and floured cookie sheet and form to the shape of the loaf you would like.
  4. Let rise on the counter or warm location for about an hour until it has doubled in size.
  5. Set the oven to 400°
  6. After the oven has preheated bake for 15 to 20 minutes, to an internal temperature of 190°
