Tips for Making Crunchy Ramen Coleslaw Salad

  • For a more intense flavor, use two packages of the Ramen noodle seasoning instead of one.
  • To make this salad ahead of time, keep the Ramen topping and coleslaw mixture separate until ready to serve. This will help maintain the crunchiness of the noodles.
  • You can even make the noodles the day before and keep them in the fridge.
  • For an extra protein to the salad, try adding grilled chicken or shrimp to the salad. (again keep separate until ready to serve)
  • Make sure to use unsalted butter for the Ramen topping to avoid making the salad too salty.
  • Add some variety and extra texture to the salad by tossing in some crunchy sesame seeds or chopped peanuts instead of the slivered almonds.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I make this salad ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this salad ahead of time. However, it’s best to keep the Ramen topping and coleslaw mixture separate until ready to serve. This will help maintain the crunchiness of the noodles. Simply add the Ramen topping to the coleslaw mixture right before serving.

Can I substitute the beef Ramen noodles with another flavor or type of noodle?

Yes, you can use any flavor or type of noodle that you prefer. However, keep in mind that the seasoning packet that comes with the beef Ramen noodles adds a lot of flavor to the dish. If you use a different type of noodle, you may need to adjust the seasonings to taste.

How long will the Ramen topping stay crunchy?

The Ramen topping will stay crunchy for a few hours after adding to the coleslaw, but it will start to soften as it absorbs moisture from the coleslaw mixture. For best results, add the Ramen topping to the coleslaw mixture right before serving.
