As winter days track on, I change the printable in my frame in my office and I am reminded that spring is not far away. I have a basic gray frame that holds an 8 1/2 by 11 printable. I am enjoying each season changing out the printable and this beautiful bright green shamrock-inspired picture is perfect for March. MarchΒ 17th in fact.

This past year I found many beautiful printables on the Internet from other bloggers for the Christmas season. My neutral frame was perfect to add color to some of the undecorated areas of our home. Always looking for a creative outlet I decided to make my own for the new year.

Many of my frames are from the dollar store and I also look through the sale isle in the fabric store for cute frames. I change out my image every season and it is an inexpensive way to decorate your rooms. This is a quick way to change up the decoration in your home without much work or expense. A truly decorating on a budget DIY project. Once you start it is fun to have the kids involved. You can use your same frame to add some of your kid’s school artwork and decorate their bedroom.

You can cut out the image by hand to have the picture fit in your frame. One of the skills I learned from my mother and I made sure my children learned, was how to freehand cut a square or circle. This would be a fun craft to print off a few copies and let the kids practice making the image fit in the frame. I am a believer that home crafts are a fun activity but also a way to teach children basic life skills. Simple cutting skills also teach patience and how to accept that we need to practice to master a skill.

  2. I’m so bad at decorating for holidays. It always seems like my decorations are long overdue to be put away – I still have some odds and ends around from Christmas haha. I really like this fast and quick way, maybe I can get into a “routine” of changing out picture frames.
