Farro is a good source of fiber, whole-grain carbohydrates, and protein. 1/4 cup of Farol has 5 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and 0 cholesterol. Farro does contain wheat so it is not gluten-free. Pearled Farro can be used in soups, salads, and used in risotto. But first, a quick & easy method to make this healthy grain in the Instant Pot without having to stand over the stove watching that it does not overcook.

While Farro is used in many recipes I am going to make a salad with a garlic Italian dressing loaded with veggies. Farro is a hearty bold taste that is an alternative to rice, pasta, or couscous. Having a whole grain as the base of your side dish salad makes it more filling and slower to digest, keeping you full longer.

Kitchen Clean Up Tip:
Whenever you cook a grain, Rice, Farro, Quinoa, or Pasta, rinse the pot you cooking the food in at once. If you can not wash it out right away, fill it with warm soapy water and let it sit in the sink. Grains can be sticky especially whole grains and they can be very hard to wash out if left sit to dry in your pot or pan.
The Instant Pot Ring and inner pan can be washed in the dishwasher. I always put my ring on the top rack. You may also want to grab an extra ring. Some of the recipes you make have a bold flavor that can attach to the ring. You may want to keep a second ring that you only use for grains and food with a soft flavor.
