Mickey Inspired Rice Krispy Treats – Make Your Beach Vacation Special
Rice Krispy Treats are so much fun to make and fun to eat. The simple basic recipe can be made into cute Disney shapes to make them special. The recipe is so versatile as you can add color, and sprinkles and made them special for your Disney vacation.
Our family is Disney super fans so when we come home from our Disney Hilton Head Island Beach Vacation I like to create homemade Disney shaped Treats to keep the fun of vacation current.
Making our favorite Disney treats at home reminds us of all the fun we had and helps lessen the disappointment of having to come home.
I also make Mickey Mouse shaped rice Krispy treats as a snack for our road trip. For all of the many Disney road trips, I bring along a lot of the healthy food I want our kids to eat as snacks. I will pack our first meal of a road trip so we do not stop but, while we do stop for dinner at a fast-food restaurant, I want the snacks to be less processed. These cute Mickey Mouse shaped treats are always along.

Disney-inspired treats are a fun surprise for your kids when you get to your beach destination. We vacation at the Disney Hilton Head Island Resort, They get excited in anticipation of what Mickey treat they will find in their room. This year I am making Mickey-inspired Rice Krispies Treats, and Mickey wand-inspired pretzel rods.
Treat Bags for Treats
For our road trips, I wrap all the treats individually in some kind of bag or wrapping. This way as the trip goes on and it can be a long drive each day, the kids have a surprise bag to open. Some treats can be on wrapping paper like a granola bar, and some in their own clear bag like the Rice Krispy treats, as the view is the wow factor.
For the Mickey treats I chose a clear bag and wanted a fun tag to go along. I designed our tags in Cricut Design Space for my Cricut Cutting Machine.
If you have a Cricut Cutting Machine you can design your own Disney inspired gift tags. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Cricut. I designed basic color tags for you to use in the Free Printable Library. Click Here, or on the picture and get your all-access pass to the library.
Our Road Trip Disney Destination Hilton Head Island

We have vacationed at our timeshare at the Disney Vacation Club at Hilton Head Island for the past 25 years. It truly is our home away from home. From the moment we see the “Welcome” home sign at the entrance to the familiar Disney touch, it brings a smile to my face.

For a great overview and the details of the resort, check out this post by Christene at Keystoinspiration.com. (Yes the author of the Blog Keys to Inspiration went on vacation with us, she is my firstborn and has a fantastic blog)

Our Favorite Disney Treats

Two of our favorite treats to take on vacation and to make at home anytime during the summer are Mickey Krispies Treats and HHI Magic Wands. RiceKrispies Treats are a go-to snack or party food that is fun to make and hard to resist. I have this great Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter we purchased at Disney World one year and it is perfect to cut out shapes. I also picked up a small set of Mickey parts cookie cutters to add to the fun.
One of the ways I like to get the kids excited for vacation (not that it takes too much work) is to make these treats at home. We decorate them with the kids, and bag and tag them for special treats during the car drive and in our hotel room at HHI.

Finishing the Treats with Tags
After the treats are made I like to place them in cellophane bags and decorate them with a topper or gift tag. This will keep them separate and fresh for our car trip and for snacks in our room at the resort.
I made these adorable bag toppers and tags using my Cricut Explore Air. I found these images in Design Space and made my own Disney tags. They make each treat extra special.

TREAT GIFT TAGS
If you have a Cricut Cutting Machine you can design your own Disney inspired gift tags. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Cricut. I designed basic color tags for you to use in the Free Printable Library. Click Here, or on the picture and get your all-access pass to the library.
Once you download the gift tags, cut them out, write your favorite Walt Disney quote and attach them to each treat.

Have fun making memories that last a lifetime at your next beach vacation. What will you be taking along as a treat?
