Ninja Creami watermelon sorbet is the easiest frozen treat I make all summer long. Three simple ingredients, and the Creami does all the work. Watermelon sorbet is a light dessert on a hot day. It tastes like biting into a cold slice of watermelon, only smoother.

This Ninja Creami watermelon sorbet is cold, refreshing, and takes just minutes to put together. Three ingredients and you are done.

I have been making this all summer, and my family cannot get enough of it. The best part is that there is no added sugar if you skip the sweetener, which makes it a treat I feel good about serving.

  • The Ninja Creami does all the work, no churning and no ice cream maker
  • Light and refreshing on a hot summer day
  • One of the easiest Ninja Creami sorbet recipes, even if this is your first pint

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 1 and 1/2 cups watermelon juice (just cube fresh watermelon and blend it)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 teaspoons monk fruit sweetener (optional, or sub regular sugar or your sweetener of choice)
  • Pinch of Salt

Susan’s Tips for the Best Watermelon Sorbet

  • Make sure your watermelon is ripe and sweet. The riper the melon, the better this tastes.
  • Start with 2 teaspoons of monk fruit and taste the juice before adding more.
  • Strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer if you want an extra smooth sorbet.
  • A seedless watermelon makes blending faster, with no picking out seeds.

How to Make Ninja Creami Watermelon Sorbet

  1. Step 1: Prep your watermelon. Cut your fresh watermelon into cubes and place them in your blender. Blend until completely smooth. Measure out 1 and 1/2 cups of watermelon juice. If you want an extra smooth sorbet, pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer before using.
  2. Step 2: Fill your pint. Pour the watermelon juice into your Ninja Creami pint. Add the monk fruit sweetener and a small pinch of salt. Then pour in water until you reach the max fill line on the pint, which is about 1/2 cup. Give it a gentle stir to combine.
  3. Step 3: Freeze overnight. Put the lid on your pint and place it in the freezer. You need it to freeze for a full 24 hours. I always make mine the night before I want to serve it. Pro tip: Make sure the top of your mixture is flat and level before freezing. If it has a mound in the center, use the back of a spoon to smooth it out. The Ninja Creami processes better with a level surface.
  4. Step 4: Process on the Sorbet setting. Take your pint out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter for 5 minutes. Then run the outside of the pint under warm water for 60 seconds. Place it in your Ninja Creami, lock it in, and run it on the Sorbet setting.
  5. Step 5: Re-spin if needed. Once it finishes, check the texture. If it is not quite smooth enough, run it through the Re-spin cycle. That usually does the trick and gives you that perfect creamy sorbet texture.

Easy Watermelon Sorbet Variations

  • Watermelon lime: Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice before freezing for a bright watermelon lime sorbet.
  • Honey sweetened: Swap the monk fruit for honey or agave.
  • Fresh mint: Blend a few fresh mint leaves right in with the watermelon.
  • Sweet and spicy: Sprinkle a little Tajin on top just before serving.
  • Strawberry watermelon: Swap 1/2 cup of the watermelon for fresh strawberries before blending.

Storing Leftover Watermelon Sorbet

Smooth the top flat, put the lid back on, and pop the pint back in the freezer.

The next time you want a scoop, run it through the Re-spin cycle and it comes out like new.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use store-bought watermelon juice?

A: Yes, you can. Just make sure it is 100% juice with no added sugar or fillers.

Q: Do I have to use a sweetener?

A: Not at all. If your watermelon is ripe and sweet, you may not need it at all.

Q: What Ninja Creami setting do I use for sorbet?

A: Use the Sorbet setting. If it needs more smoothing out, hit Re-spin, and it will be perfect.

Q: Can I add anything else to this?

A: A squeeze of fresh lime juice is really nice in here. It adds a little brightness without changing the flavor too much.
