How to Make Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas

  1. Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper.
  2. Peel the bananas and cut them in half.
  3. If using chopsticks cut them in half.
  4. Insert the chopstick or pop cycle stick as straight as possible into the banana.
  5. Place the bananas on the cookie sheet on the wax paper about 1 inch apart and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  6. After the bananas are frozen, start by melting the chocolate chips in a pyrex measuring cup. Melt in the microwave 15 seconds at a time until the chocolate is melted and there are not any lumps. After melting if your measuring cup is not deep enough, transfer the melted chocolate to a tall glass cup or pint mason jar.
  7. Prepare your peanuts by giving them a rough chop. This can be done in the food processor, by hand, or by crushing them in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.
  8. Have all the topping you are going to use on plates or paper plates.
  9. Take the frozen bananas out of the freezer only a few at a time. Dip the frozen banana into the melted chocolate at an angle so the banana doesn’t slip off the stick. Let drip a little back into the container.
  10. Roll the chocolate covered banana in the peanuts or other toppings.
  11. Place back on a cookie sheet to be put back in the freezer.
  12. Freeze for at least 2 to 3 hours and then enjoy.

Pro Tips – store in the freezer in Airtight Container for 4 weeks

Store the frozen bananas in the freezer in an airtight container or in a freezer bag. They will last up to about 3 weeks if they last that long.
