A baked potato has 4 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber, a good source of vitamin C, and potassium when you eat the skin. Baked potatoes are fat-free and cholesterol free. Potatoes are high in carbohydrates so we only eat them when they just are the best side dish for the dinner we are having.   We love baked potatoes when we have a stake or baked chicken.

Step by Step Instructions For Instant Pot Baked Potatoes

  • For great baked potatoes all you need is fresh potatoes and water.
  • Wash the baking potatoes with water and a clean sponge. If they are very dirty use just a little soap but rinse well.ย  The skin has a lot of nutrition so you want to make sure it is clean so you feel safe eating the skin.
  • Place the rack that came with the instant pot in the pot first.
  • Add 1 cup of cold water.
  • Add the potatoes on top of the rack.
  • Secure the lid and set the top knob to seal.
  • For the average size baking potatoes set to high pressure for 18 minutes.
  • When pressure counts down to zero you can quick release or if you are busy making dinner you can let the potatoes say on warm for a natural release.
  • Remove the potatoes with tongs and place them on a plate until ready to ear. Enjoy the classic butter & sour cream.
  • Our family also likes cottage cheese on our baked potatoes.
  • Bacon and cheddar cheese is also a delicious add on.

Instant Pot Bake Potato

Ingredients

  • 4 Baking Potatoes
  • 1 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Place the Instant Pot rackย in the pot.
  2. Add 1 cup of water.
  3. Wash and poke with a fork the potatoes.
  4. Set the potatoes on top of the rack
  5. Set the lid on and set the top knob to sealing.
  6. Press the pressure option and set it for 18 minutes.
  7. When the 18 minutes has counted down to 0, do a quick release
  8. Remove and Enjoy

Notes

  • Serve with classic butter & sour cream
  • Our family also likes cottage cheese on our baked potatoes.
  • Other add like bacon or cheddar cheese also tastes great.

  3. Okay… I have to try this. Couple questions… do you have to poke the potatoes with a fork before putting them in to cook? (Normally, they can burst in the oven if you don’t.) Also, can you stack more than 4 potatoes in the pot, if they fit below the fill line? Thanks for posting this easy IP recipe!

    1. Yes, I poke them with a fork. I am sure you can stack as long as it is below the line. I will give it a try. Let me know if you get this.
