If you love homemade bread and want to make the perfect fluffy white bread you will love our families favorite recipe – Bread Machine White Bread The Best Sally Lunn Recipe

As busy moms and dads, we do not always have time to make homemade recipes for our family from scratch. But by using a bread machine you can have the best from scratch and modern convenience. We all want to control the ingredients of our kids’ food but do not always have the time to cook for hours.

When you use the bread machine dough cycle all you do is dump in all the ingredients and set the cycle and press start. All the heavy lifting of kneading and making sure it rises at the correct time is done for you by the machine. You then look like you have spent all day baking when that fresh loaf comes out of the oven.

Bread Machines will bake the bread also if you set your machine to the bread cycle, but my family has never liked that process.  Every machine I used has made a hard crust on the outside and a small amount of fluffy bread.

But I would never make bread if I did not have the use of the bread machine dough cycle.  You will love the convenience, the freshness, the smell of freshly baked bread, and the knowledge that you have put the best ingredients together for your family.

Best Ingredients for Cheese Bread

  • Water:
  • Butter: Melted butter added to the flavor and softness of the bread. Melt the butter but make sure it is not too hot when adding in the bread machine as you do not want to kill the yeast. You can also use vegetable oil.
  • Egg: I like to use extra-large Egg-lands Best, egg adds fullness and richness.
  • White Sugar:  Sugar add sweetness to the bread and also gives the yeast food to eat to start the raising process. You can also substitute honey for sugar.
  • Salt: The salt balances the flavor of the bread.
  • Whole Wheat Flour: Whole wheat flour is packed with fiber and helps to add structure to the loaf.
  • Bread Machine Flour: Bread machine flour is high in protein and gluten. you should only us bread machine flour when using your bread machine unless the recipe specifically recommends another flour.
  • Dry Milk: This adds richness to the recipe and makes a softer loaf. Dry powdered milk does not interfere with gluten production as does regular milk.
  • Cheddar Cheese: I used shredded cheddar cheese in the package, but you can grate by hand. You can also use other hard cheese as a substitute as in pepper jack, or Colby. Do not use soft cheeses.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Store grated parmesan cheese works just fine, or you can grate fresh.
  • Bread Machine Dry Yeast: For the best bread result in my bread machine, I use only fresh bread machine dry yeast that I keep in the fridge. For years I have only used Fleischmann’s Yeast for Bread Machines.
