How to Make Tuna Salad with Pantry Basics

Do you need to make lunch with just what is in the kitchen? Try a quick delicious sweet and tangy tuna salad for a sandwich or salad with just what you have in your fridge and pantry. A basic tuna salad for a lunch sandwich or with lettuce can be made with extras that you have in your refrigerator.
Tuna salad is so veritable. You can use any type of mayonnaise. You can substitute some of the mayonnaise with sour cream or plain yogurt. Add pickle relish sweet or dill. Add corn relish is you have it or even just some can corn.

If you are going to the store get a sweet pickle relish and corn relish. If you are at home and can or should not get out, experiment with what you have in your pantry. I like my tuna on lettuce but my husband likes a sandwich with the lettuce in the sandwich.

Find all the vegetables you have in your fridge and add extra fiber to your lunch with the vegetables on the side.

Description

Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna in water
- 4 sweet pickles relish
- 3 olives, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of corn relish
- 1/4 teaspoon of onion flakes or onion powder
- 1 cup Mayonaise
- 1/4 cup of plain greek yogurt
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Open 2 cans of tuna and drain off the water (if you have tuna in oil that works too, just drain off the oil)
- Put the tuna in a medium bowl and break up with a fork
- Add the pickle relish, the chopped olives, the corn relish, and onion powder.
- Next, in a small bowl mix together the mayonnaise and the plain yogurt.
- Add the mayonnaise/yogurt to the tuna, mix, and salt and pepper to taste.
- If you want to make a sandwich, you can use plain bread or toast. Add some lettuce to your sandwich to add some more veggies.
